Our vision is to glorify God by seeing lives transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, by God's saving grace, through the communication of His Word by His willing servants.
As its name suggests, Heritage Baptist Church is a local congregation of like-mined believers desiring to convey the historic Baptist distinctiveness as an expression of the New Testament church set in a modern context. Our doctrines are consistent with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000). This is demonstrated by a reverent worshipful God-centered approach to everything we do.
According to the Westminster Shorter Catechism," the chief end of man" is to "...glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever." Ravi Zacharias, Christian Apologist, says the role of the church is "not to make God relevant to man, but to make man relevant to God." The beginning and end is always God. He is the Alpha and Omega.
As such, we are created by Him and for Him. Man is an object lesson on display of God's nature loving and just - grace, mercy and wrath. More than recipients of His affections, we are conduits of His love. His holiness and glory are demonstrated through the regenerate Christian believer, dying to self, as salt and light in the present age.
Our vision, by extension, joins in this eternal flow of God's expression of His character. We are the body of Jesus Christ, walking beside our fellow man lost and saved, ever pointing those around us toward Him. We invite you to walk together with us, a congregation of believer’s sinners all, daily transformed by His saving grace toward a restored fellowship with our creator God. To God be the glory!
